Individuals domiciled in France for tax purposes are eligible to open a PEA, up to a limit of one per person.
If you are married or in a civil partnership, each spouse can open his or her own PEA.
A PEA account allows you to buy shares in listed companies headquartered in a European Union or European Economic Area country.
ETFs are also PEA-eligible if they are composed of at least 75% eligible equities.
Shares in companies listed on a US Stock Exchange but headquartered in the European Union are eligible for the PEA (e.g. Spotify).
Shares in companies headquartered in the United States (ex: Apple, Tesla, Nvidia...) are not eligible for the PEA.

No, PEAs only allow cash purchases of securities.
Short selling and leveraged transactions are not available in a PEA.

The total amount invested in a PEA may not exceed €150,000.
However, the value of your PEA may exceed this amount after capital gains or dividends. These gains or dividends can then be reinvested in your PEA.
From the 5th year of PEA ownership, there is no French tax on capital gains. Only social security contributions apply.
From the 5th year, total or partial withdrawal is possible. A withdrawal before the 5th year will result in closure of the PEA.
